I think i've heard many noises, in my 20 years or so of existence.
Sounds as deafening as a weapon being fired right next to you, as catchy as a radio tune. Sounds that carry emotional value, like muffled sobbling, to more neutral sounds, like directions from a GPS.
Nothing gets to me like the sound of pure silence though. My parents sleep early, so i'm usually alone at night (only at night?).
In the night, with the dark sky ahead of you, the vast silence just envelopes you. It pries you heart open and makes you confessional.
It's almost as if when there's no wall of sound around you, you're forced to speak, and speak from the heart.
And when you pull yourself apart in the night, some things get lost in the darkness.
Heart of darkness, eh.
