listening to: Why Does It Always Rain On Me by Travis

new cd, new cd! haha

do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone, and do not be troubled over the future for it has not come. live in the present; and make it so beautiful, it will be worth remembering.

its been a hell of a long time since i last updated. well actually not really. but the last post was cryptic and kinda stalker-ish, so i've decided to divert your attention with this new post, and my pseudo-intellectual dialogue.

well anyway. the other afternoon/night (does it really matter), i was sitting in this really dark room watching the school's drama production. since i was sitting at the back, i could overlook the entire audience. you wouldn't believe how many people use their phones during that twenty minutes or so. so i was wondering: do we really have that much to talk about?

i guess its kinda ironic in a way, cause here i am blabbbering endlessly about the issue of talking non-stop. anyhow, isnt it amazing how much we need others to converse with. as much as certain people try to remain detached from society and relationships, it seems inevitable that we need others to listen. but of course, we all know people really hardly ever listen. they pretend to. so few people actually listen these days.

so maybe the reason why we send so many smses, call so many people, is due to the fact that we're hoping that ONE in a gazillion people will actually bother to listen. ah yes, this reminds me of a quote from fight club:

"when people think you're dying, they really really listen to you, instead of... "
"instead of waiting for their turn to speak?"

how apt, and depressingly true.

if you're reading this, whoever you are, do something today: go LISTEN to someone.

cheers.
