listening to: Sweet Child Of Mine by Guns N Roses
i have a schoolmate. let's call him A, for convenience's sake.
all this while, i've never really liked A. he possessed some traits that i really disliked. although i did admire the fact that he was an intellectual, who possessed perhaps a more critical mind then i would ever develop. but at the same time, he was selfish, arrogant and eccentric. i never mixed with him, much less related to him. in fact, i guess one could say that we were from two different worlds. well, we were certainly in two different cliques.
but today, something surprised me. during break, A started playing the music on a mp3 player. and, to my amusement (and horror), he started playing tunes from the likes of the ataris and dashboard confessional. it was then that i remembered what i read when i was in secondary two, doing the book, 'the outsiders', for my literature. in particular, i remembered a conversation between ponyboy and cherry valance. i cant remember the exact words or sentences, but it went along the lines of two people being in different worlds, but still they see the same sunset.
maybe we aren't that different after all.
