listening to: Maybe by N.E.R.D

"i know you thought your life was gonna be easy. you thought you had it all."

it's been a while since i last blogged. everytime i wanted to blog, something always pops up, like the MSN alert or the oven bell. so im here blogging now, to keep my blog alive. even though im missing CSI on AXN. haha.

been watching the european championships whle pretending to do integration 2.35 in the morning. im suppose to feel tired, since i slept for 4.5 hours only. okay la. it's not that bad, but it's half of what's ideal right? anyway, the first quarter final is on tonight, and i guess i'll catch it. hmm. should be a tight one. i have a strange feeling about england this year. with italy, spain and germany out, you have to admit this is one of the best chances eriksson and his charges will have to win anything. portugal is strong, with mr ronaldo and figo, they are filled with talent. but i feel that they seriously need a proper striker. i watched their first match and pauleta was playing like a midfielder more than a striker and thus, there's no edge upfront, no target man. and that is crucial when you play with one striker. like the dutch, who have a gifted target man in van nistelrooy. i know nuno gumes (how do you spell his name?) is playing tonight. and i know he scored that goal against spain but come on. that was just a lucky goal. look at how he hits the ball. the leg overextended and it was scuffed. he dragged the shot further than he intended to. compared to owen and inevitably wayne "roonaldo" rooney, he is yards behind. i guess it'll be an exciting, fast paced, tense match. with england winning 2-1.

speaking of rooney, and rooney-mania, pele has recently stepped out and said rooney is the next him. while i do believe that part of that comment was out of appreciation for rooney's skills and undeniable talent, i am still shocked that the great pele is comparing himself with this english teenager. rooney is 18 and he is the joint top scorer of the championships. he has got players, some 10 years older than him, quivering in their boots. still. i do not think that rooney is pele. it is, quite honestly, unfair to the talent of pele to compare him with rooney. look at what pele did, he has won numerous world cups, voted the second best player ever to grace the game, and was top scorer of the world cup at age 18. rooney has not proven anything, hasn't won anything of note. he has amazing ability, control and strength. but pele he is not. not yet anyway. if he wins the european championship and finshes top scorer or at least is up there with the best, then perhaps it would be fair to start comparing him to pele. till then, rooney will be better off concentrating on improving himself and reminding himself that whilst he has has potential, he cannot compare to what pele has accomplished.

with all this talk about football. i am feeling better if you are still worried over my earlier outburst. that was pretty bad, like the worst this year i guess. i must admit i knew it was coming. the feeling of seperation won over my faith in my friends. sighs.

school's gonna start soon. gotta start doing work. till next time, thanks for everything, take care of yourself and enjoy life.

oh. and CSI is over.
