I dreamt of you last night..and i woke up immediately

Why life is like a dream and not necessarily in a good way.

Think of a dream.

Dreams tend to be incredible adventures, true out-of-body experiences. Each dream is a real thrill, the most amazing things or the most beautifully mudane things happen to us.
And yet we have so little say over what we get to do in a dream.

We are planted in that strange, bizzaro situation and we just react and adapt to what is around us. If the people in our dreams were shooting each other, we would go along and try to fit the entire situation into our logic and process it as something that is alright and acceptable. We might enjoy the experience, or absolutely hate it, but we seem to be unable to change the entire setting of our dreams. What we are given, we must work with.

In a sense, dreams can place us in the most absurd of scenarios and can be utterly detached from reality, and yet in both dreams and our lives, we are swept along by hidden, complex forces - sociological, economical, political - that forces us to adapt and act in a certain manner. In both, we are merely victims of our circumstances, trying to fit in and conform to expectations - in a fantastical world, or in our own.

Perhaps the lives we lead are never meant to be our own.
