This post is called, The Hokkien Realisation.

As the news caster reported the latest figures from yet another tragic natural disaster, my father turned to my mother and said, in dialect and with a tinge of resignment that only the weary can wear, 'The Earth is dying'.

The feeling of something so terrible and catastrophic that's unfolding in front of us, married with the sense of helplessness, makes it such a distressing affair. There has been talk, and plenty of talk, of Copenhagen and carbon restrictions and realising the need to solve what is clearly an issue, but talk is all there has been.

The fault of man is its failure to learn from history. My guess, and greatest fear, is that leaders will continue their empty echos and that nothing will be done eventually. What that ultimately leads to, is something we can all conspire to worry of.
