Listening to: Sarah on the phone/'the Good Life' by Kanye West (feat T-Pain)
Have you ever wondered..
What the big fuss is about Obama's key personnel choices? As you may or may not know, President-Elect Barack Obama has chosen several members from the previous Clinton Administration for several positions in his transition team, including Hilary Clinton for Secretary of State and John Podesta as a co-chairman. There has been a great deal of fuss regarding his selection with some claiming to it to be 'the return of the Clinton gang' and even as a disappointment, after a campaign built around the concept of 'change'. I won't claim to be the biggest political watcher around, but i can't really see what's wrong with his decisions so far. For starters, what do people expect? Obama could employ a class of high school kids and it would be change, wouldn't it. Instead, he's choosing wisely, compensating for his widely acknowledged lack of experience. He's done that with Biden (foreign policy), so what's new about this? Instead of gambling with rookies during this time of turmoil (terrorism, war, economic crisis), he's trusting people who have 'been there, done that'. It may not be sexy or exciting or make for a good read, but it does make for what i consider good statesmanship.
