listening to: Hei Se Liu Ding by David Tao Ze
[gerard aka herbse]
i've strangely known gerard for about 7 years now.
i use the word strangely,
because for 4 years or so,
i didn't realise who he was.
he was on the same school bus as me during that period.
and every morning,
he would walk past me,
and we would say nothing to each other.
simply cause i was ALWAYS sleeping on the bus.
so all i could remember for the first three years or so
was gerard sitting at the back of the bus (where he would always sit)
making quite a bit of noise with the rest of the kids (which later included ming xun).
i first got to know him properly in secondary 1,
when we got into the same class, 1/3.
even then we hardly spoke to each other,
cause we had so little in common.
at that time.
however, things began to change towards the end of sec 1 and the start of sec 2.
that was when football in our class was starting to get organised and gerard began to play.
so through football, we began to know each other better.
somehow and unfortunately,
gerard always managed to get into trouble.
something which i sincerely hope he stops doing.
we didn't always see eye to eye through sec 2,
but somehow we made it through,
alvin tan and all,
to sec 3.
the last two years of the seven years was probably the most memorable.
by then, we were much better friends.
and of course, football was still our main topic of discussion.
furthermore, we were in the same team.
this all meant a great, enjoyable two years.
together we've had so many brilliant experiences:
all the times we talked about gary!
debating over who IS the best striker? (henry for now!)
real madrid versus man united (two rounds round roy keane?)
winning two competitions in sec four (finally!),
sadly, losing that sickening inter-class tournament,
winning reuben and gang twice,
(remember that lob over the keeper?)
winning all-stars once and drawing once,
(coming off the bench to set up our goal!)
losing to reuben's team in that dramatic 5-4 match...
but coming back to beat them 4-3,
(surviving that penalty miss =X)
and of course, who can forget the own goal i scored in the inter house tournament? haha.
it's been 7 years gerard,
to the rest:
be patient about this tribute thing.
i've got to study too!
don't worry though,
i'll get it done asap.
goodnight and god bless.
